Hi, I am new to this site. I am researching ancestors who worked in PA coal mines in the 1900 time era. Is there anyone who can direct me to names or people who would know how to find my family members who were miners back then? Any info is greatly appreciated..

Maybe start looking around www.oldforgecoalmine.com and look in "anthacite archives." Won't find any names in the inspectors reports, but there are a lot of links to the area's historic societies. The people there at those societies would know where to find records of people and places.

It would help a lot to know what county they were from, but Carl at Old Forge Coal Mine has a great bundle of the links all in one place in the anthracite archives area so you can start gathering phone numbers and other contact info.
