After you login to Face book, click on one of your pictures, right click on the photo and select 'View Image'. Then cut and paste THAT url for the image. That might work if Face Book allows this.

Try right clicking on the image and copy the link to the .jpg or the .gif file. Your links are not image links and thus that is why this isn't working. The URL must end in .jpg, or .gif.

I think with flickr, you can select larger size images. So you would select the larger image and then right click that image and copy the URL. Like 800 X 600 for example.
