This new restaurant is located on Rt. 209 North in Lehighton and burns coal purchased in Tamaqua:

Sounds interesting.

Might have to put that on the list for the next trip.

Right behind Mike A's introduction to the local fare.

It tastes great. The neat part is that the coal makes the crust crispy and black, but not burnt.

My girlfriend lives in palmerton so Im going to check this place out this weekend. that area cant hold a candle to wilkes-barre/scranton for pizza places, so Im going in with a huge bias : ). In case anyome wants to go but cant find this place they have a blue 1992 Lincoln limo (kinda beat up) out front w/ their name on it, you cant miss it.

Yeah, but, W-B/Scranton pizza is its own beast. I know folks from NJ & NY who can't tolerate Old Forge-style pizza and they refuse to go our for any square pizza when we are up there.

For me, part of the fun is the variation. Once you get used to ordering a cut instead of a slice, that is! :-)

I have to try the anty pie next time I am in the Lehigh Valley.
