I am not sure if it is in the newspaper but I will check, A friend of mines father was installing a furnace in a new house in the school side estates development in olyphant. For some odd reason they could not get the burner to light/stay lit. They used a device to detect levels of oxygen which recorded readings of down to 10% along the basement floor(not sure exactly how bad this is) But they are saying that this is due to mine gasses. Not sure if this happens regularly around here it might, but it was something i have never heard of and found very interesting.

20.8 % is normal. Below 15.0% is getting dangerous.

Chris, It's the area just past Mid Valley High School (School Side Estates) on the same side as the school and goes towards South Valley Ave. Basically across the street from the turn off for Underwood area.

I believe it could happen, serves them right. The development is owned by the same people(s) that own Scranton Craftsman.

its right across from the Underwood road. i have most of the prints from that area. theres a few outcrops up there. So most of the development has openings close to them. Hence the black damp. Doesnt anyone research an area before they build ? Buyer beware !!!!! LOL
