I take my coffee black, and I need at the absolute minimum two maybe three cups before I'm all together in the morning. My preference is either 8 o'clock or Beech Nut. As far as a boughten cup of coffee goes Turkey Hill is pretty good and so is the coffee at Tower Sales in my book. Starbucks tastes horrid. I don't even mind day old reheated coffee but I'll do without if Starbucks is the only option.

Don't completely knock ole' Starbucks. They support our right to carry weapons regardless of how liberal their clientele may be, so go support your local business with your pistol on your hip or a rifle slung across your back and send those liberal pussies running for the hills, lol!

you're gonna have to explain that, 'cause what i'm imagining is way too hilarious to be true.

wawa is the best coffee in the world. no ifs, ands, or buts. plus cheap gas and the best place to get a sandwich half in the bag at 330 in the morning

Flatlander,

A lot of open carry gun enthusiasts have been exercising their 2nd amendment rights to carry arms in public places. Starbucks allows folks to carry while on their premises, saying that if the constitution says its okay for people to keep and bear, then they don't have a problem with it. The Brady bill folks are trying to get them to kick gun carriers out but they're basically saying keep us out of your political BS and let us do business in peace.

maybe Im wrong here. But I understand the constutition trumps all state federal and local laws. Wouldnt this include private establishments ? They cant discriminate who they will sell to. Based on certain criteria. ( ie color of your skin, etc) ( even though they have signs saying they can) So refusing service to someone that bears an " arm" is discrinination ? Sooo Starbucks is saying well let you exercise one of your RIGHTS ? Carrying a gun in NOT a privlage. They DONT have a RIGHT to refuse service just because someone is carying. When are people going to realize owning and carrying a gun IS NOT a privlage. But a RIGHT !!( Dickson city police found that out a few years ago when a group entered a Buffett restarant. You dont even have to show ID just because your carrying. I personally dont own one, so Im not going NRA on everyone. But just the state of our goverment and police departments misleading people. Get sick of them using " our safety" as an excuse to chip away at the constutition.Yes there should be conditions ( felons or mentally unstable excluded from owning one) But our typical goverment goes down the slippery slope all to many times. Give then an inch ( controls or exclusions) and they take a hundred feet. Starbucks is just taking a gamble that they can do more business PRETENDING to respect your RIGHTS. Besides IN MY OPINION there coffee does suck !!! And its WAY WAY to over priced. Just another mega national chain putting the small guy out of business. The Wal Mart of coffee shops !!!

Starbucks is a private business operating on private property. They can do and restrict a lot of things. They can restrict guns, shirts, shoes, hair color and a lot of things. If they are willing to pay the price of public outcry and / or operate outside of Federal Programs and Funds.

If you really dig into the matter there are a lot of things the Feds can't really mandate. What they do is called the "Golden Rule". They have the gold and they rule. Case in point. The 55 MPH speed limit was beyond the power of the federal government to have a say. What they did was tell the states if you don't we won't give you Federal Highway Funds. States complied. Same thing with the recent .08 BAC rule.

Good point. And lets not forget 21 to drink. I believe New York state was the last hold out ( 1986) It was before I turned 18 (in 1988) Its funny how things change. At one time most people carrried openly ( early 20 th century and before) Now theres a big deal about it. IDK. In todays world with all the nuts carrying conceled with the intent to rob a place. Id sure feel more comfortable sitting in a establishment with someone who was openly carrying. That way if someone tried to rob the place they might think twice. Or at least someone could at least try to defend themselves and every one in the place. The genie was let out of the bottle a long time ago when this country was formed. guns are a way of life. Always have been. And besides CRIMINALS DONT BUY GUNS LEGALLY !!! So who would laws to restrict gun ownership hurt ??? Honest persons who want to defend themselves and there homes. And openly carrying as a good deterent !!!! I own a Rottweiler ( big baby lol) although she hasnt had to defend her home. Just the sound of her throwing herself off the door growling and barking etc is a deterent. Same thing as openly carrying !! Personally if I were a business owner Id openly welcome a person carrying. Again thed act as a deterent. Its just the general liberal public is intimidated by guns. Dont have the knowledge to know they are safe in the right trained hands.Do we need regulayion in this country... sure. But instead of making open carrying an issue. How about that banking industry !!!???? But I wont go there. Weve already discussed that to death. lol

Was NY really the last hold out for 21? Wow. Usually we're the first to jump on any socialist regulation we can get our mits on. Still waiting for this State to pass gas (drilling :) )

I think that you gotta hand it to Starbucks for openly stating their position on this. They don't have to say a word, McDonalds and Walmart don't. And that topic is really one that would rub most of their customers the wrong way if they knew, since the stereotypical Starbucks customer is a Toyota PINUS driving, anti-gun whale-humper.

Or there's the "I'm a writer. Look at me, I have a lap top. See, look at me, I'm a writer. I'm writing a book" guy in the front window.

Then there's Amy and I. Hot coco for her, Large Coffee (not venti grande double butt crapachino) for me.

preach on, brother man!!! i never thought i would have a reason to respect starbucks one iota, but that's pretty cool. i think it was Louisiana that was the last one to change it, some time in the early '90's.

in pennsylvania there is no law against exposed carry, you just need a permit to carry concealed. that"s not to say that they couldn't nick ya for some trumped up reckless endangerment charge, or maybe disturbing the peace, what with everybody running away screaming,"HE'S GOTTA GUN!" . don't play airsoft on an active rail line. the railroads take trespassing pretty seriously, never mind the loaded freight trains that come rolling through from time to time. i play on my buddies quarry property, 60 some wooded acres, plus some pretty big rock piles. i know you're a ways away but anybody who plays is invited. only rule is don't be a dick, and it's strictly enforced.
