**This appears to really have been Mount Tabor, not Parsippany**

PARSIPPANY — A driver, who told a 911 operator that his car ended up on the railroad tracks because he was following directions from his GPS caused significant NJ Transit delays in Morris County this morning.

According to NJ Transit spokesman Dan Stessel, the 5:43 a.m. train out of Dover was en route to Hoboken when it struck a silver 2008 Toyota Camry in Mt. Tabor shortly before 6 a.m.

The driver of the Camry, who was not identified, claimed he was headed north on Powder Mill Road when his car’s GPS instructed him to make a right turn.

It was then that the car became stuck and the man called 911. The operator instructed him to immediately exit the car. The train’s engineer saw the car on the tracks through the early-morning fog and hit the emergency brake but was unable to stop the train in time., Stessel said

No passengers were injured in the accident, although the train was delayed 55 minutes. The accident caused additional 30-minute delays along the track until about 9:30 a.m., Stessel said.

The train suffered only minor damage. The Camry was a total loss.
