Well here is the latest project just completed last week out of our restoration facility.

This Greensburg battery locomotive was utilized on tunnel contruction projects throughout the United States. Units similar to this were also used for iron & metal mines.

Special thanks to all that contributed on this project.
Traylor Brothers, Inc. management team & forklift crew
T & S Railroad for allowing a picture perfect winter setting

John we hope you had a blast & it was a pleasue to finally meet you. :D
We will definately keep you posted on future trips.

Ray did a great job coordinating the move of the Greensburg to the T & S r.r. so it could be tested on the 4 mile run with serious grades. The locomotive will be there for a little while you will have to check it out at some point in time. It was a miners B-day celebration in the snow.

where is it going to go after that? did you restore it for traylor or is it yours? how far is that 4 mile rail line from where you are, id leave it there!

The locomotive was donated to us. We restored it at our restoration facility. The rail line is closer to you than us so there is no getting out of this one. It is a 6 hour drive for us.

well then id say definatly leave it there  how long is it going to be there for? and you said it stalled out on the grades, the rail looked like it was wet and had snow on it. do you think with sand and dry rails it would have climbed the grade? at pioneer tunnel in the winter the motor will stall out if you are stopped on the grade inside the mine then try to start. but if you back back down and get a running start it climbs no problem. or if you sand the rails it will start too. however that wears out the wheels so we try to avoid sand unless needed.

It never stalled out & we are only running half the voltage. We actually set a record there. There is a long grade on the rail line & this was the first locomotive to climb it on wet rails with no sand. This this moves right along with dry rails look out.

Nice shots John the snow was just right to get the winter shots we never get. We will have to do a E.B.T. mission soon. We will show you some more cool stuff.

Almost all their equipment used to be 36" ga but all pushed in to 24in ga now. They have Vulcans, Brookville & Plymouths & several pieces of rolling stock at that location. Ray & I were debating that they decided to match the Vulcan since it was 24 in ga originally & they did not have to push it in.
