it's a good thing not explore alone. but, at the same time the St Nick looks to be structurally safe, I wouldn't worry about it collapsing on you.

oh yea st nick is in real good shape, it would definantly last a hundred years! yea sure you can come, we can plan a trip here in a few weeks if you want. the only problem is we cant plan a big trip cause of weather, you just never know this time of year.

not only the weather this time of year, its also Penn Dot's handling of the weather (see Valentines Day of this year). Can't go anywhere if the interstates are covered in snow and ice for almost a week.

O, I like that one. I usually dont try to have an artistic feel to my photos, but every once in awhile I wish I could shoot something like that. Most of the time its a photo of something so someone down the line will know what it is off the bat. But anyhow, your photos are pretty good.

Umm, I guess you could say the Swift Breaker is still standing. That photo was taken only a few days ago. Its slowly being ripped apart. Theres not much left in Northumberland Co. I have walked about every place in Shamokin and the surronding area. However, there are still a few remaining buildings, such as the Washouse of the Cameron Colliery (Photo Below) Let me know when your around sometime, can help ya out.

I have. Took a photo of it yesterday, have yet to upload it. When I looked down it only went 20-25 ft. and then was filled with water.

You seem to be into this mining thing, haha, you wouldnt happen to know how deep the shaft is do you?? All I need is some scuba gear and a ladder and I may try to figure it out myself.

I am in the middle of building an ROV that can be used for this exploration instead of diving. little safer. just a thought.

i was going to build one also, but the pressure is real great. i really dont know how to take good video through a window on a "mine shaft pod" that will stand depths over 500 feet. most of our shafts are near 1000 feet deep and some landings dont start until after the first 400 feet or so. :?: gotta be strong.

I also have a drop camera rated to 500 feet. I know i am going to get into trouble for being off topic but sch. 40 pipe will withstand that depth but be on the safe side and use sch. 80. and either 3/4 to 1 inch thick plexi for the window. I have a tv tuner card for my laptop that i direct the feed into and record it. I will have to find a video of my older ROV bumping into a nice size large mouth bass.
