i say the 9 drops it like that and uses it as a mantrip, will clean the ballast out from "the high spots" :lol: although the powder shed ranks up there as well :D

Why not use it as a explosives shed and ballast plow at the same time? At some point the ballast will come out the tunnel a lot quicker than it went in!

Looks like it will be rolling along shortly. Penn Equipment of Port Carbon will be picking up the wheel and axle sets to weld in the spacers and the couplers so they could modify those too. Then it needs new wood on the benches ,wire mesh over the windows, paint, and doors fabricated and installed. Looks great since the guys at the 9 cut the windows in!

yea they did a nice job on them! do you know when they are picking up the wheel and axle sets? also, i can bring my tanks down this weekend if we want to gain access to those couplers, until you get the 9s filled?

I think there picking them up this coming week. I think saturday I'm going to stop and get the tanks filled.

Inside of the car is now painted gray, outside is now yellow. All that's left is doors and the axle sets and it's ready to go.

yea it will be real cool to use this on the day of our tour! hope its ready by then. if we have time we should work on the couplers on sat. ill get some pics of the work the boys at the 9 have been doing on saturday.

well the mantrip looks great yellow. today mike and i made an attempt to get the couplers off. we decided to wait till the wheels are under it so we can work in the pit in the motor barn for that one as they were being stubborn. we took the wheels to the welding shop thats going to cut the axles and weld in the 6" spacers. that should be done soon and we will have that baby rolling shortly after. ill post some pics on monday.

For whatever reason, it really looks a lot larger being painted. An amazing difference, although it is looking a lot like the other cars..

well, just an update on the mancar. the guys at the no.9 have been working pretty hard on this car and the wheels and axles just came back from the welding shop getting regauged. we are going down on sunday to do some work on it getting it ready to haul guests at the mine. should be up and running for the public in a few weeks as soon as the connectors get back and the doors get fabricated.
