Location-If you are driving up 81 north bound about half a mile before the Dickson city "Main Street" exit, on the right hand side about 25-30 yards off the highway there is a large area that has a significant cleared out area that is on what appears to be a slope like feature (directly across the highway is a open pit coal mine). I only ask this because I see the coal mine on one side and then this, just got my mind thinking, is it anything other then a slope into the ground?

I hope this description makes sense or maybe someone knows what I'm talking about.....

Chris

Hello from the Bahamas guys!

Hey Chris, it could be a slope.... I've heard rumor of a couple in that area. Don't know for sure though. The "open pit" mine on the south side of the highway is the site of Hudson Coal Co.'s Marvine Colliery. They're eating the culm banks up over there right now. Most of that area was robbed heavily.

Bahamas-

Come back to PA and enjoy this rain!

I've slowed down as I passed this the other day and thats what I'm beginning to think. Maybe I will take a drive around tomorrow and see what I can find.

I'll take some photos if it's anything.

I know of two very small openings near there very close to the railroad tracks, so it should be worth checking out, i live a bout a mile from there. Did you ever check out some up the stuff up behind valvano construction?

No, I recently moved into Dickson city so I have not explored anything. I am back into the area the 12th of May, the Army wants me again.

I'd like to check these areas out, if you have the time, let's do some exploring!?

Its nothing-

Freakin pile of crap dumped by the road workers.

However, I went and explored an old coal mine a few blocks from where I live. Just bought a new camera so I figured I would try it out and all.

I'll post up some pictures tonite.
