no, hudson coal co. cars. they all looked similar but these have steel support brackets like the one we just built. these are taller cars though, even a bit taller than huber cars. must have been working the baltimore vein, thats the same as the mammoth of the southern and middle, or the big, 14 foot, or pittston vein of farther north.

the northern field. thats what the pennsylvania coal co. called the big bed, or the 14 foot bed. glen alden called it the big bed and it was the 14 foot bed for hudson coal north of moosic, baltimore bed south of moosic. see different coal companies had different names for some of the veins. also, as a note, it was the pittston bed that knox coal co broke into at their river slope mine. they were mining under pennsylvania coals mineral rights hence the vein name.

Those cars look so big when you're hand loading, but next to those tiny lokies, they look like toys. Put those lokies next to a road engine and they too look like toys, Funny how that works.
