yea, it came from a breaker in hazleton. not to heist coal though, to pull equipment to the top. like that small one in huber.

What is powering that hoist? Almost looks like a straight six type engine.. but it is the wrong side for an AMC engine.. Maybe a ford?

Nice, thats kind of neat though.. Looked like the ford setup. Kind of neat, a whole 1960's ford drive train powering the hoist. They also used these engines for cars, generators, trucks, and other stuff, so that is kind of neat..

The picture may not tell the story, but it does appear to be a neat and well-maintained.

To my untrained eye, the slope looks like it is going the wrong way. I would have expected it to slope towards the hill/mountain and parallel.

the slope is going the right way, the heist house is just on the opposite side than usual.

I wasn't thinking about the hoist. but the slope itself. A drift or tunnel would be going towards the hill and here it is going away. But I guess there isn't a correct way, it would depend on the geology.

if its a rock slope it could be going into the hill to intersect the veins. but the veins are at about the same angle as the mountain then go under the valley between them so they run the same way as the slope of the hill.
