holy macral :shock: I'd have to agree with chris, photos of the year!

notice the CM, it looks like a bunch of coal steels on the end just like that widow maker we saw at seldom seen. just a lot more advanced from that..... How the heck did they mine with that thing?? it would crush the coal into dust! Its almost like you would undercut with it, drill, fire, and then load with it..? rather puzzling!

Glad they were interesting. Always felt photos were a waste if they were not shared. The great thing about this site. Everyone has something interesting. Kind of a clearinghouse of info, , documentation and restoration.

they are where there is active mining now. however in the northern field it was primarily flat with the exception of pitch on the sides of the mountains. it was flat like a bitty mine for the most part but with 7-11 veins deep! too bad it wasnt still going and full of water, it would be something now a days!
