Would it be profitable for a large mining campany to open exstensive underground mines in the anthracite regions? just wondering if we'll ever see the kind of mines that used to be over there...

well yes and no. harmony is the largest and kimmels, which is under new management has the opportunity to grow to that size. although i doubt youll ever see the multi level mines of years gone by as all the workings are flooded.
