at first maybe, but things can go wrong in a tour mine also. keep in mind if something happened would you want a 15 year old leading a group of 30 people around?

I'm confused, I thought you meant as visitors not as guides.

Sure, as the tour guides you're correct.

Ill throw in here. Things go wrong in a tour ? yeh. I remember going down the slope and promising some girl from NYC that was terrified that " nothing could go wrong ". Then about two seconds BANGGGG!!!!! axle breaks !! Ok Rookie tour guide, angry, shall we say a bit large teenage school girl from the bronx ( NYC) me a lightweight at 5'5 115 lbs. walking them up the slope to get them out. I was lucky to only get called a bunch of four letter ( and some I never heard of) words walking out. But on a serious note. yes things can ( usually small) could go wrong. Ive heard of ( and experienced) claustrophobic ( spelling ?) people paniking, and running up the slope to get out. Since the hoist operator is blind, and so is the curve in the slope if someone ran out, they could possibly get hurt. Most times it is fun doing tours. But it does have responsibility.

yea tony i remember that! its funny banks hopes for a broken axle so he can send everyone out the pod  that was right after you started there right? i think of that every time we go down on that thing wondering when its gonna drop onto the ground, haha! and when tony said the heist operator is blind he didnt mean literally, but once the buggy enters the slope he cant see it any more, has to rely on the slope indicator and radio so he may as well be. also, its a state law that you need to be 21 and work at the mine for at least a year to be a hoist operator. the 21 year old reg is a responsibility thing and the year waiting period is to make sure the men can trust you that work with you. would you jump on a buggy being operated by some guy you just met that day?

So if the axle breaks on the way down, they don't let you still explore the mine? Walking is a lot more fun!

No Greg, its time to walk the people up the slope. Get the car to the surface, break out the chains, and blocks, and let the swearing begin !!!
