Mike,

Thanks for sharing your shots you took on the Sterling Hill trip. I have to hand it to you, you took some great shots! It's still great to see such a intact operation still in existence in NJ. Not much of our NJ mining heritage is left intact anymore. Hard to find much anywhere these days..

It is amazing to think how easily this historical site could have been lost if not for the dedication and perseverance of those willing to dedicate so much for its preservation. I was very delighted to hear that the number of people visiting Sterling Hill has been greatly increasing. As belts tighten, its nice to know people are willing to take a trip to the Sterling Mine and enjoy and appreciate whats so close to home on their time off.

That certainly is good news in a bad economy. Many times when people are not traveling around, they might stick to things that are more local. Such as the local mining museums. Sterling is certainly a great and important historical place, it is great that it was preserved and it is great news that they seem to be financially sound.
