I'd just love to get the miner's certification and go MINING.

I'd also love to make $18/hr again.
OH the joys of an unstable economy.

The Certification is easy enough. Getting the time to do it may be the difficult part.

True enough, there.
I'm going to win the lottery and buy a plot of land up there so the guys can build their own garage and lay track for the equipment. Then I can quit my job, get my certification and work with them on the weekends.

There is nothing wrong with dreaming.

I have over my desk a picture of Walt Disney walking over the desolate land that became Disney World, the caption is " Sometimes it's fun to do the impossible"

As to the Lottery, have at it I don't play.

How much experience are they wanting in your District for Instructor?

I'm wanting to take the IU. But I keep getting mixed messages.

requirements in the state of tn are a little different than most other states, there is no state agency to regulate mining like alot of others, only MSHA. so, whatever the federal requires is what is needed here. national coal made arraingements with the local field office to have a 3 day instructor workshop for some of their people to get their iu and is. since they took care of everything i am not sure what an individual would have to do.
