Does anyone know if the abandoned dragline is still in Hughestown, PA (near Pittston, PA)? Or has it been scrapped. I'd like to take a few photographs before the growth becomes too much--if it's still there, of course.

For reference, older overhead photography puts it at approximately 41.32946, -75.76661.

Dang. I can't tell you how disappointing that is to hear. I was in the process of tracing old rail routes and came upon it. I thought it'd give me an excuse to make the trip home for a day of photographing an old dinosaur.

That news is better than scrapping, no doubt. So has the dismantling begun (what was thought to be scrapping) or is this a mistake?

And this might be a more elusive question: who was the seller? Did the Commonwealth take ownership based on abandonment or did it still belong to a somewhere-existing (on paper?) coal company?

thats good news... I heard about the dismantling, everyone I talked to just assumed it was being scrapped... that seems to be the trend anyway, sorry for the misinformation, but im glad I was wrong.
