Foamer: uncontrolled frothing at the mouth at the sight of a train. Down here on the Railways we called them "cranks".

As for getting excited about tunnels, well after spending 40 minutes at a time passing through one of our longest tunnels listening to a 567 bellowing out her song, my ears can't share the joy.

well, I'm not a train nerd, per say. i just enjoy watching them and feeling the ground shake when a train passes. I don't keep a record of locos that I see, and I don't have a scanner like some people(I am saving up for one)(until now, I have been reduced to listening in on crew chatter when my dad and I go to the yard and use his CB radio(He is a former trucker, so he has one).
