First off, I passed an "Old Mine Rd." off of Cokesbury Rd. in Cokesbury, NJ which is off Rt. 22. Was wondering if anyone has been there?
Second, I found this pic. "Lackawanna Coal Mine Tour"

As for the Lackawanna Coal Mine tour, this is actually known as the Continental 190 Slope. We should probably feature it on the site, but this is located in Scranton PA. The mine actually connects to Lehman 179 Slope (featured on the site) and at one point it was worked together with 179.

You can read more about Lehman here:

we also have a bunch of pics of the "tour" slope 190. i do special tours there if you are interested in going sometime. we go about once a month. go in the tour, then into all of the old workings around the tour that you dont see as a paying customer! then up an internal slope to a different vein of coal and finally climb out the no. 2 fan shaft. good times.

Fixed the description, so it no longer says Scranton NJ. But in any event this is a mine tour to check out. Its a blast going down by man car from a hoist, down the slope in the Clark Bed. If you have never been to a coal mine before this is an experience you won't forget.

Chris is referring to my description of the slope 190 mine, where i used iron mining terms instead of the coal mining terms to describe the workings. Something I completely forgot to correct.
