Hi Miner Patel and welcome to the forum. So you have visited the Wielizcka Salt Mine? I have read about it on various websites and have found it very interesting. We have salt mines in New York but I am sure they do not compare to the grandeur of Wielizcka. Please feel free to share your experiences or knowledge on our forums. I am not sure what happened to your last post but it can be caused by your Internet connection.

Hmm, is there any explanation for this? I thought maybe Miner Patel's first post was never actually submitted. This has happened to me before where I think my ip address changes and it rejects my post asking me to sign in again. I didn't realize his posts were literally disappearing.

While this looks very interesting, the Salt Mines in the state of New York are far from small. The AZKO Salt mine, closed in 1994, was the size of the Island of Manhattan underground. The mine closed after there was a huge roof collapse and subsidence which allowed the ground water from above to slowly fill up the mine. There are other mines in the area and AZKO is looking to open a new mine outside of the barrier pillars of the old salt mine.

Poland would make for an interesting trip. Now who wants to go on a trip to Cornwall to see their famous mining history? Unlike the US, England actually is proud of their mining past and go through a lot of effort to save historic mine buildings and openings.
