It was awesome to see that mucker move under it's own power again. It uncovered some minor issues with our compressed air lines but nothing major. The compressor got a good work out too in the process.

You guys are lucky that this is an easy one. Once the few minor leaks are repaired in the air line it should go faster.

Nice to have fun for once without completely disassembling it & having to rebuild.

I suggest you dig a tunnel to Hershey Park for multiple reasons.

1. Longest rock tunnel mine ride in the world

2. You can have tourist at both ends

3. I bet you can get a grant for this project.

Awesome. I always love the videos you guys post up.
It's nice to see the progress coming together on your projects.
And the "nice guy" even got in one of the videos.

Wink

I'll help him run the tourist trap at the Hershey end, providing he gets his grant.

I was thinking about driving a tunnel through the mammoth top split to Konobels actually Laughing That mucker will sure come in handy in the near future as will a two drum slusher amongst other things.

I would prefer a air one just because there is compressed air throughout the mine if it's electric the smaller the better just because I'll have to run a seperate 480 volt line in for it.

Great work.. Great to see that under it's own power again! Yeah I think you are going to want to repair that broken air line.. Does the air compressor have a gauge on it? How much PSI is it able to keep in the line even though you have no storage tank? What does it go down to when you start driving the mucker?

i know it was pushing out 110 psi and it is a 125 cfm compressor. not sure what it dropped to as we were all watching the mucker Laughing it definatly did put a load on, and it needs the cfm to run so any leak thats letting air out and not to the mucker isnt good. it only needs 75 psi to run and 60 cfm, im guessing we were around that point as it really didnt have a ton of power. gonna fix the air line, service the mucker, install the cables and try it again.

did good today, after doing a bit of work on the mucker we decided to take it down and run it. well....... my quest for derailing a piece of equipment at all the mine tours is almost complete Confused watch out lackawanna, youre next Laughing anyways heres the result.........

looks to be a good dodge ad! mike a. did good pulling it back on with ol blue. main problem is the wheels on the mucker. the flange is way too thick and it gets stuck in switches between the frog and guide rail so if it clings to the guide rail, it climbs the frog and sometimes comes close to falling off the outside of the rail....... sometimes......

Leave these guys unsupervised for 5 minutes and they have the mucker off the road! I really thought ole blue was going to have the muckers bucket imprinted on the tailgate, that would have made for a good story.

Steve Rothermel would like that one... Rolling Eyes

the mucker looks like a prehistoric beast being pulled behind the truck..

Yup, that was an interesting one. It didn't quite want to go back on the rails because of the place it derailed ... the frog. But nothing better than Mike's Dodge to save the day!
