well for those of you guys that left early you missed all the excitement! so the plan was to get the little bituminous buggy pushing as fast as it could go with the motor down grade, lay on the brakes on the motor and see how far the buggy would roll with its 2 riders inside. well it was going well until i just started to start applying the brake on the motor. at that point as the car was ready to be sent off on its own, the one side brake rigging on the mine car fell off flipped over and was then ran over by the car. this made the thing jump up a foot on one side and since it was on the curve it just jumped off the track. then the motor was still pushing it and turned it almost 90 degrees to the track. luckily it didnt flip over and i just about had the motor stopped. it only slid for about 6 feet, but that was good enough!

Your fathers yard is going to surely start looking like a coal mine. All coal mines seem to have battle scars from mine car derailments, why not complete the yard with a few scars?
Pretty funny.. Luckily you didn't derail the locomotive. While you got the rerailers, it isn't always easy..

That was a great time. Shame it all has to be moved , oh well hopefully the next place will be somewhere a little more dark. I finally am able to post to the forum, thanks again Greg.

Yup that was a fun day. Too bad Chris had to abandoned his railroad, but that was a good time we all had there.
