Bob Hauck from the Sterling Hill Mining Museum gave a few members of the forum and myself a tour of the historic mine complex. Unlike previous times poking around in the Sterling Mine infrastructure, this time I finally brought my camera. We climbed up the massive headframe, examined how one of the most successful and massive mines in the state hoisted its ore and dumped it into a storage bin. We then climbed higher to take in the breathtaking view, one shared with miners past, before descending and examining the whole process from this point on... eventually to the point where the ore was dropped into full size railroad cars to be shipped. I cannot begin to come up with captions for all of this but we would like to do so eventually as part of a Sterling Mine Slideshow. For now, enjoy some of the pictures...

Some nice photos Mike! Certainly worth documenting properly! Its neat to still see ore in the conveyor lines. Kind of a neat touch.. I'm sure they were placed there though..
